I ; I I I f ' 1 she arrived in this country from England, in 1871, such as a match, a stove, a handpowered washing machine and washing machines have become quite commonplace during her lifetime. In addition she has seen many signs of pror gress along the way. It took her parents and their family one month to cross the ocean a trip which now requires but several days by boat. Mrs. Phillips has been a good homemaker, an interested citizen and an ardent church worker. Her sons and daughters are: Lucy Phillips pf Ephraim; Mrs. Wm. Bird, Mrs. Lizzie Billiags, Victor Ralph and Floyd Phillips of Springville. Two daughters have Mrs. Rachel Phillips 1 passed away in aaaition to her husband, Jonah Phillips. Her grandchildren number 23 and many of these have made fine records. Five have received their Masters degrees from colleges or universities; 2, B.S. degree; five are in college; two in the service and one serving in Norway on a mission. There are also 11 great grandchildren. Family To Mark Their Mother's 86th Birthday Mrs. Rachel Phillips will observe ob-serve her 86th birthday Sunday at the family residence, 532 East Fourth South St., and on Wednesday Wednes-day a family party will mark the occasion at the home of a daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
