Show Camp Stove Helps Vacationers Save Many families who are taking to the open road for their vacations vaca-tions this year are saving as much as $7 or $8 a day on food costs by packing a camp stove and portable picnic cooler into the car. Instead of being' constantly watchful for clean-looking roadside road-side restaurants, they pull over and eat wherever and whenever when-ever they want. A Coleman camp stove helps prepare hot food the way the family likes it. And the cooler keeps fresjj vegetables, veg-etables, milk and other perishables perish-ables always ready. The George Espensons, of West St. Paul, Minn., and their two children, for example, started on a 16-day trip to the Rockies by eating in restaurants at an average cost of $12 daily. After three days of this, they switched to preparing their own food on their Coleman stove. Their food costs dropped to $4.17 a day, a savings daily of $7.83 and - a total savings on ood for the trip of $102,79. |
