Show Children Escape ' Accident Injury What could have been a tradgic accident on Friday of last week involved two grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith of Springville. Young Russell Farrer, 6, and his brother Freddie, 4, sons of Monte and Wynette Smith Farrer of Orem, together with a neighbor boy, David Tidwell were playing in an excavation for a basement near their home, when dirt on the sides caved in on them. Russell was covered completely but managed man-aged to get his face and head out and the other two boys were covered cov-ered to their waists. Freddie crawled crawl-ed out and ran for help. A neighbor neigh-bor and a workman arrived at about the same time and released the boys. Aside from a nose hemorrhage and body bruises, Russell escaped unhurt. The other two boys were uninjured. The parents and grandparents of the boys were happy the accident was not worse. Russell has had two previous harrowing experiences experi-ences having been involved in an auto accident and was also found floating down a canal a year or so ago. |
