Approved a .project to further develop the state's fish hatchery at FMountain Green. Work will include rebuilding rebuild-ing of several existing ponds and construction of new runways for rearing more fish. Agreed to preparation of plans and specifications covering construction con-struction of a public fishing lake at Anderson Meadows in Beaverl County. Such plans are subject to approval by the State Engineer and Forest Service before final acceptance ac-ceptance and start of the project. Agreed to support a national bill asking for a review of all lands already withdrawn for use by the military in the light of actual need and the effect upon fish and wildlife wild-life resources. Decred that the starling be listed list-ed as a predacious bird. This bird, originally imported to the United States from Europe, is now becoming be-coming populous in Utah and is detrimental to more desirable game birds and other species. Projected a study to be made at the Hardware Ranch covering improvements of parking space and other facilities. |
