Honored guests were Mr. Erickson and his sister, Mrs. Amanda Binks, twins, whose birthdays bir-thdays were remembered. The dining din-ing table was beautifully centered with yellow chrysanthemums. Binks, Mrs. Lillie Hopla, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Clark, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Kearns, Mrs. Edith Erickson and the hosts. Twelve members of the Birthday Birth-day club were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wy-man Wy-man in Spanish Fork Saturday evening. A delicious hot supper was served early in the evening and was followed by games and, social chat. , Miss Ruth Wentz was hostess to eighteen of her girl friends at a birthday party Saturday afternoon after-noon at the home of her parents, Mayor and Mrs. Maston Wentz. Lunch was served after which they all attended the show. The home of Mrs. Zina Dibble was the scene of a , delightful birthday party Friday evening. Honored guests were Mrs. Hazel Binks, Mrs. Hannah Binks and Mrs Amanda Binks whose birthdays birth-days all occurred during the same week Pot luck supper was served The family of Mr .and Mrs. Vance Gividen enjoyed a birthday dinner at their home Sunday honoring hon-oring three members of their family. fam-ily. The Geneological Committee was entertained at the home of Mrs. Zina Dibble Thursday eve- At the Mapleton City Council meeting Monday night it was voted vot-ed to go on record as opposing the change in the allocation of the B and C Road Fund as proposed by the Utah State Highway Planning Department. They also definitely opposed any additional State or City sales tax. Presiding at this meeting was Mayor Maston Wentz and others attending were J. Leonard Harris, Douglas Bills, Burton Warren and Joseph Carne.secea Jr. and City Recorder Norris T. Binks. Mrs. Marie Stone was honored with a social at the Church by the members of the Mapleton Second ward MIA, Thursday night. She has recently been released as president pres-ident of the YVVMIA of the ward and is now a counselor in the Stake Presidency. She was presented pre-sented with a copy of "Jesus The Christ" by Talmage in appreciation apprecia-tion for her outstanding service to the MIA. Lunch was served under the supervision of Lavine Whiting. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Andreason have been hosts to two Boys from Oslo, Norway, Arne Pederson and Ingor Thorn and their chaperons, Solveig Velge and her mother, Mrs. Velge. The two boys are members of the Boy's Choir from Norway who sang recently at the BYU. Arne Pederson is the solist. These people were dinner guests at the Andreason home Friday evening. They spent one day at the Grant School in Springville where principal, A. LeRoy Erickson Erick-son showed them the functions of the school. A group from the Sixth grade presented a square dance. In return the Norwegian boys sang a song. They left this weekend with the Choir to sing in Oregon. A social afternoon was spent at the home of Mrs. Senate Menden-hall Menden-hall Thursday of last week when she entertained the members of Camp Mapleton DUP. Music was furnished by Mrs. Norma Cox, who played two piano selections. A history of John Mendenhall was given by Senate Mendenhall and the lesson was presented by Sadie Whiting. Refreshments were served serv-ed to twenty members by the hostess assisted by Bird Nielson, Sadie Whiting and Alice Johnson. |
