Show Installed C of C Head... ; -.A . .. ., f r L V Dr. R. K. Miner New Heads Take Over C. of C. Positions Here Dr. Richard K. Miner took over the duties of president of the Springville Chamber of Commerce succeeding Ed Johnson at the installation banquet Wednesday evening at the Westside school. Other new officers include Vernon Callahan, vice president; Taylor Reynolds, Bert Taylor, Reed Av-erett Av-erett and David Friel, members of the board of directors, with Myron Childs, Jack R.obertson, Murray Peay, F. Calvin Packard, Ed Johnson John-son and Keith Diamond, holdovers. Retiring from the board arc: Howard C. Maycock, Lawrence Lynn, Ted Taylor, Bill Kapp anf Waldo Jacobsen. The installation banquet at which George Bird was toastmas-ter, toastmas-ter, featured Sterling E. Piice as the principal speaker. He told of the bright prospects for Utah Valley Val-ley as a result of the Colorado River Water storage project and explained that in the opinion of many this area would grow rapidly rap-idly in population in the next ten years. In the meantime, renewed re-newed effort will be made to increase in-crease the Chamber membership. With a vote of appreciation for his fine services, A. W. Cherring-ton, Cherring-ton, who has served as executive secretary of the Chamber, is retiring.' re-tiring.' Present plans of the lew officers are to do without the services ser-vices of an executive secretary and to turn more funds into advertising ad-vertising projects. |
