Show Prize Offered for New Name for Local Scout Dsst. Notice to Scouts, Cub. Scouts and Explorers .... . Would you like to win $5 in merchandise plus a flag for your troop with the district name inscribed upon it? These are prizes offered the Scout who finds a new name for the local Scout district. Up until the time the stakes were divided, this district was known as Kolob District but now a new name must be selected. The contest in which a new name will be selected closes February 13, and all suggestions should be handed han-ded in to the Scout troop leader who will hand it to district officials offi-cials Elwood Loveridge, Lynn Huff, Eugene Gibbs or Wilford Manwaring. Along with the name suggested for the district, the contestant must give his reasons for his selection selec-tion in not more than 50 words. The contest is open to all registered regis-tered Scouts, Cubs and Explorers. The name selected should be short and easy to pronounce, preferably pref-erably Indian. It should have some historical or local significance signifi-cance and be original. The new name should - also work in well with a cheer. It would be an honor to find a new district name as well as worth a $5 prize plus a flag with the new name on it for the Scout's troop. Every Scout is therefore urged to begin now to find a new name for the district and pass it into his troop leader together with reasons for his election. |
