Show Farewells Planned Sunday for Three Men Leaving in Feb. on LDS Missions Serves from 8th Ward . . . S ; G. David McKell j Goes to Britain . . . c Three young men are leaving Springville in February to represent repre-sent their wards in LDS mission fields in this country and in foreign for-eign lands. G. David McKell, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. McKell, presently making mak-ing their home at Phoenix, Ariz, will represent the Eighth ward in the West Central States Mission. An ex-service man with time spent in Korea, Elder McKell attended at-tended school in Klammoth Falls, Oreg. and came to the BYU on a scholarship. He made his home for a time with the Cornell Jesse family fam-ily in Springville but more recently re-cently with an uncle Charles R. McKell in Provo. His farewell will be Sunday evening, eve-ning, Jan. 27, at 5 p.m. in the Second-Eighth ward church. He entered the mission home on Wednesday. Wed-nesday. The program in his honor will be given as follows: Opening song, congregation, "The Spirit of God Like a Fire," invocation, Ron Stanger; Sacrament Sacra-ment song, "How Great the Wisdom," Wis-dom," speaker, Raydon Madson; remarks, Minerva Jessee; piano solo, Norman Jessee; remarks, Cornell Jessee, Charles R. McKell and the missionary with the closing clos-ing remarks by Bishop Melvin Duke. The closing song will be, "Sing We Now at Parting," with berie-diction berie-diction by James McKell. Clair Barton Shipp The farewell program for Elder Clair Barton Shipp, who will go to the British mission is planned for Sunday evening at 5 p.m. in the Fifth-Seventh ward chapel. He will represent the Fifth ward. The opening song of the evening eve-ning will be by the congregation, "Come, Come Ye Saints," with invocation in-vocation by Phillip Bird. The congregation con-gregation will sing, "Sweet is the Work," followed by a talk by Paul A. Walker. There will be a duet by Nedra Whitney and Sam Francis; remarks, Arthur R. Mor-in Mor-in and by Otto C. and Jessie Shipp, parents of the missionary; a vocal solo, Sam Francis; response re-sponse by the missionary; also by Bishop Grant S. Thorn. The. closing clos-ing song will be, 'Sing We Now at Parting," by the congregation with the benediction by Eddie Holmes. Elder Shipp will enter the mission mis-sion home on February 13. He has been attending the Brigham Young University where he is a sophomore. Ben R. Fietkau Ben R. Fietkau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Fietkau will serve in the Gulf States mission representing represent-ing - the Third ward. His farewell is in that ward Sunday evening at 7 p.m. He is a former student of the BYU and entered the mission mis-sion home Wednesday. The program planned in his honor will include: Opening song, "How Beautiful Upon the Mountain," Moun-tain," with Moani Johansen,, soloist. solo-ist. The invocation will be by Phillip Harrison; Sacrament song, "Come Follow Me." There will be a. vocal trio composed of Flora Fietkau, Edna Nielson and Janice Weight. The speaker will be Howard How-ard Sumsion with remarks by Bishop Bliss Packard, parents of the missionary and by the missionary. mis-sionary. Farrel Blanchard wil give a piano solo and Ralph Underwood a vocal solo.
