The Mapleton Lions and their Ladies enjoyed a supper party in Memorial Hall Thursday night of last week with Maston Wentz in charge. Assisting him in planning the program was Carlos Hjorth. A delicious hot supper was served by the Lady Lions who used a valentine theme for their decorations. A humorous reading was given by William McKinnon and a business bus-iness meeting followed. Eighteen Eight-een were present. The Lady Lions have a beautiful beau-tiful quilt which will be auctioned auc-tioned off in the near futui-e. Tickets may be purchased from any member. Lions are also sponsoring a fine program to be held on February 21 in Memorial Hall which will be presented by the Fish and Game Department of the State. The story of San Juan will be depicted in pictures pic-tures with a lecture given by Lee Kay. Proceeds from this program will be used to purchase pur-chase fire equipment for the City. All are asked to come out and support this project. Delightful in every detail was the Valentine Supper given by the members of the Needle Craft club for their husbands Saturday night at the . Social Center in Spanish .Fork. A Valentine theme was used in the table decorations and program. pro-gram. Heart shaped boxes of candy were used for centerpieces center-pieces which were later given as prizes to those with lucky numbers. Planning the party were club officers Inez Harmer, president; presi-dent; Belva Wentz, vice president presi-dent and Gwen Allen, secretary. secre-tary. Acting on the program committee were Arlena Holley and Eva Bird with Arlena introducing in-troducing the numbers. A tribute tri-bute to the husbands was given by Mrs. Bert Whiting and Bert responded with a tribute to the wives. Instrumental music was furnished by Glen Holley and Norris Binks. Vocal duets were sung by Glen Holley and Freeman Free-man Bird and a prognostication prognostica-tion was given by Amanda Binks. Several games of "Neighbor" were played with prizes going to Frank Jensen, Arlena Holley, Hol-ley, Harriet Nielson, Freeman Bird and Millie Bird. Thirty-one guests participated.
