Show Ever tried Scone Rolls for breakfast ? Sift together 2 cups sifted enriched flour, 1 tablespoon table-spoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon tea-spoon salt and cup sugar. Cut or rub in cup shortening until mixture is crumbly. Combine Com-bine 1 beaten egg and to 23 cup milk and add to flour mixture mix-ture to make a soft dough. Turn out on lightly floured board or pastry cloth and knead gently 30 seconds. Roll out to rectangle rectan-gle XA inch thick and spread with currant or mint jelly. Roll up like jelly roll, sealing edge. Then slice into 1-inch pieces i and place cut side down into lightly greased muffin cups. Bake in moderately hot oven (400 degrees fahrenheit) 15 to 20 minutes. Makes about 1 dozen rolls. . |
