'1 . . l Miss Barbara Hall Miss Barbara Hall Is Presented High MIA Award Miss Barbara Hall of the Seventh Sev-enth Ward MIA, talented daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theron S. Hall, has attained the highest rank of Golden Gleaner, the first in Kolob Stake for this year, announces Mrs. Clara Averett, YWMIA president. pres-ident. An ultimate goal in achievement for MIA girls, the rank of Golden Gleaner comes through personal development and service to God and fellowman over a period of years. Asenior student at the BYU, Miss Hall will receive her degree from college in June and plans to take up teaching as a profession. She is majoring in elementary education ed-ucation with a minor in geography. Miss Hall recently returned from an LDS mission in California and is a graduate of the Springville high school and the Seminary. Her personal journal reveals that she has taught Sunday School class for two years; was Sunday School organist for a year and was YWMIA secretary for two years. She is now a choral director in the MIA and has arranged a number of fireside chats for her classmates. She has also given a book review and was an active member of a chorus for two years. A poem she had written was used in MIA and she is frequently called upon to give talks for various occasions. She has tried her skill in painting paint-ing pictures and has taken part in dramatic offerings. She is interested in-terested in interior decorating and has decorated a room. She has now been a Gleaner for three years. All of the named accomplishments have brought her the coveted honor. She credits her parents for much of her achievements and her six brothers and sisters as together they enjoy a happy home and work together for the betterment of each other. Miss Hall will be honored by her ward and also during the coming MIA music festival for her fine accomplishment. |
