Show Funeral Services Held for Alice V. Johnson Funeral services for Alice W. Johnson, 70, who died Wednesday afternoon of last week in the Utah Valley hospital after a brief illness were conducted Saturday in the Third-Ninth ward LDS chapel with Bishop Glen Christensen officiating. officiat-ing. Airs. Johnson was born in New Zealand Feb. 25, 1883, a daughter of George and Sarah Witney. The family moved to Springville in 1898 as converts to the LDS church. On Sept. 2, 1908, she was married mar-ried to J. B. Johnson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She has been active in LDS church work for many years, as a theology teacher in the Relief Society. Four sons and daughters survive. sur-vive. They are Mrs. Minerva J. Callahan of Springville; Bernard W. Johnson, Seattle, Wash.; Dean W. Johnson, Provo; Lovell W. Johnson, Willow Creek, Calif. Also the following brothers and sisters survive: Mrs. Lucy Witney, New Zealand; Mrs. Sarah Winnie, Pay-son; Pay-son; Dan Witney and Will Witney, both of Spring-ville; George W. Witney, Fort Mead, S. D.; and three grandchildren. Burial was in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. |
