Show JC's Make Plans For "Road-e-o" Asjafety Move The Springville Junior Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a teenage teen-age "Road-e-o" April 24 at the city ball partk to promote safe driving among high school stu dents. The R.oad-e-o will name the community's most skillful teenage teen-age driver. Bud Done, Jaycee president, pres-ident, said today the top winner of the "Road-e-o" will compete in a statewide contest in June. Sponsors Spon-sors of the national teen-age Poad-e-o are the U. S. Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Liberty Mutual Mut-ual Insurance company. The Jaycees will supervise the contests on local, state and national nation-al levels. Competition will include contests in parking, driving in traffic, knowledge of traffic laws, and several other points for safe driving. Teen-agers who have been guilty of a moving violation during a six month period before the contest con-test will not be allowed to enter. National Jaycee president, Horace Hor-ace Henderson recently said the Jaycees "Hope to encourage teenagers teen-agers to become expert drivers through the program. Rules of the Road-e-o emphasize the skills needed for safe driving in everyday every-day life. We think some of America's Ameri-ca's best drivers are in their teens, and the contest will give teenagers teen-agers a chance to prove it." All teen-agers who have drivers' licenses will be eligible. Those interested in-terested in competing should contact con-tact Lum Holley, Reed Johnson or Blaine Hardy. |
