Show fewer Laws Broken In Springville During Past Year Fewer citations were issued by the local police officers during 1949 than in the preceeding year,$ according to the yearly report of the police department issued by Chief Henry M. Weight this week. The report for 1949 shows 792 cases on the police record as compared com-pared to 958 for 1948. Violations of road driving laws (moving violations) topped 'the list with 505 cases, followed by other traffic motor vehicle law violators which numbered 144. Others are listed as follows: Violations Vio-lations of liquor laws, 4; drunkenness, drunken-ness, 44; disorderly conduct, 4; vagrancy, 2; parking violations, minor offenses, 50; larceny (under (un-der $50), 18; burglary, breaking, and illegal entering, 8. There were 25 cases recorded on charges of illegal sprinkling. The majority of the violators were from out of town, Chief Weight asserted. |
