Show Fire Department Responds-To Two Fires On Tuesday The local fire department was called to two blazes Tuesday, the first at the Joseph Carnesecca shop on Mapleton, when an overheated over-heated furnace set fire to the place. Very little damage resulted the blaze being extinguished imJ mediately. The second fire in the early evening eve-ning was at the home belonging to Mrs. Flora Maiben, across the street east of the First ward chapel. chap-el. Tenants occupying the home had been thawing pipes out with an open flame and it was thought that sparks could have reached into in-to the attic, where the blaze began. be-gan. Approximately $1500 damage resulted to the home, while neighbors neigh-bors and passerbys succeeded in removing most of the furnishings belonging to Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Wilson. The quick expert work and immediate im-mediate response of the fire-department to both blazes was appreciated ap-preciated by owners both of whom expressed thanks and commended the department for their fine service. ser-vice.
