Show Riding Club Sets Annual Dog Derby There will be plenty of excitement excite-ment come Saturday and the boys of Springville and surrounding towns with their dogs and sleds assemble here for the annual Dog Derby, sponsored by the Hobble Creek Riding Club. The derby is to be conducted, beginning at 11 a.m., on First South between Fourth and Sixth East, near the Ball Park. At least three cash prizes are being be-ing offered by the club to the boy and his dog who wins First, Second or Third place. The prizes consist of $5, ?3, and $2. There will also be a prize for each entry, whether or not he wins his race. Chairman of the event is George Wilson, who states that providing weather permits, one of the biggest events of its kind will be staged as entries have been received from Provo and Spanish Fork as well as Springville. The public is invited in-vited to see the derby. |
