Show HOBBLE CREEK WATERS HIGH While no appreciable damage has resulted thus far from the Hobble Creek high water in the Springville city limits the west fields are said to be completely submeiged in water, rendering a large part of . the land unfit for cultivation' this year, it is said. The creek high water has uprooted up-rooted about thirty large trees during the past few days, and these have had to be removed to prevent a flood of land in the vicinity. The city watermasters and a large crew of WPA workers work-ers are kept busy daily clearing the creek of any obstacles which might cause the stream to overflow over-flow its bank. Two low foot bridges along its course have had to be removed. Guards were maintained main-tained during the highest water flow to report any danger to the larger vehicle bridges. As a precautionary measure, Superintendent Harvey Hutchinson Hutchin-son of the sti-eet and walks, this week gave a warning that anyone under 16 years found near the creek is liable to arrest. The high water has attracted many youngsters young-sters and others who do not realize real-ize the danger of the stream, it is stated. |
