Show SOCIETY NEVS Mrs. Mae Larson and daughter I Sandra of Spanish Fork. Mr. and Mrs. D. Ford Crandall of Bouse, Idaho, were guests during dur-ing the week end of Mr. Crandall's parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Crandall Cran-dall in this city.. Their daughter Airs. C. H. Thoisteson and husband hus-band and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thorstesen of Ogden were also ' dinner guests at the Crandall home Sunday. All enjoyed the pictures in the art exhibit during the afternoon. aft-ernoon. Members of the Firemens' auxiliary auxil-iary were delightfully entertained Monday night at the Fire hall. Progressive 500 featured the entertainment en-tertainment with high score prize for the games going to Mrs. Emma Em-ma Miner. A dainty luncheon preceded pre-ceded the games. Mrs. Little Wheeler and Mrs. Mary Weight were hostesses. Mrs. LaVern Beardall will be hostess to members of the Busy Finger club at her home Friday evening the meeting having been changed from Thursday. Mrs. Lottie Lambson has just recently returned from Ogden where she spent several weeks with her son Don Lambson and family. A number of relatives delightfully delight-fully surprised Mrs. Frank Jensen at her home in Mapleton last Tuesday night, the occasion being her birthday anniversary. A delicious de-licious dinner featured the affair, being served early in the evening. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Miner, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Miner and Mr. and Mrs. Jensen and family. Mrs. LaCelle Sumsion recently returned from several days visit with relatives and friends in Richfield. Local club ladies who attended the state federation of woman's clubs convention which was held in Salt Lake City April 16, 17 and 18 were: Mrs. W. F. Hoffman, Mrs. M. R. Straw, Mrs. Emil Ost-lund, Ost-lund, Mrs. A. O Packard, Mrs Tracy Christensen, and Mrs. Erie Boorman. Members of the Mothers' Study club previous to their meeting at the home of Mrs. Eva Crandall Friday afternoon, met at the home of Mrs. Ella Reynolds in a business busi-ness session. Officers of the club were elected as follows: Mrs. Maude Thorn, president; Mrs. Maude Peterson, vice president; Mrs. Philda Finley, secretary ; Mrs. Gene Pierce, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Gladys Boyer, scng leader; Mrs. Eva Crandall, accompanist ; Mrs. Mae Fletcher, Mrs. Jessie Whitney, Mrs. Reynolds Reyn-olds and Mrs. Thorn, executive committee; Mrs. Josie Alleman, Mrs. Percinda Oakley, Mrs. Martha Harrison, civic committee; Mrs. Mae Huntington, Mrs. Nell Alleman, Mrs. Hilda Grant and Mrs. Hilda Cherrington, art and finance committee; Mrs. Louisa Wainwright to confer with Mrs. Ada B. Straw on international relationship. re-lationship. The business meeting also featured fea-tured an oration for which first place was given at the high school, by Miss Sara Marie Binks. Mrs. Martha Harrison gave a report of the district convention at Lehi and Secretary Josie Alleman gave a 'financial report of the year. The club also completed payment of sufficient funds to have their name inscribed on the bronze plaque in the art gallery, which lists art patrons. Following the business meeting the club members adjourned to the high school where Mrs. Nettie Yates with her husband spoke on the pictures in the exhibit. The group were then entertained at a luncheon and program at the home of Mrs. Crandall. There Mrs. Yates told of the life of Averett Fairbanks in connection with his intimate friend John Hafen. Mr. Yates also gave brief remarks. Mrs. Crandall gave a talk on the life of John Hafen; Mrs. Reynolds with a poem paid tribute to Mr. and Mrs. Yates; Mrs. Crandall gave a piano solo and Mrs. Crandall Cran-dall with Miss Venice Whiting also entertained with piano duets. Assisting As-sisting Mrs. Crandall with serving serv-ing were Mrs. Carlisle Crandall and Mrs. Maeser Crandall. The luncheon was suggestive of a meal served by the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hafen and was in keeping with the general art theme of the afternoon. i Miss Marian Miner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Miner left recently re-cently to attend the L. D. S. Business Busi-ness college, in Salt Lake City. Complimentary to her daughter Anna Mae who was five years old last Wednesday,. Mrs. Norma Noe entertained a group of young friends and relatives at a nartv at home. Games and an Easter luncheon featured the affair. Present Pres-ent were Kay and Vernon Weight, Thonna and Merle Holt, Glenna Kennedy, Lela and Darlene Olsen. Dale Law, Doris Mae Phillips, Ann Marie Fry, Mrs. Ira Taylor, Mrs. Mae Larson and daughter Sandra, Mrs. Hilda Boyack and children Carol and Mark Allan, the latter six being from Spanish Fork. Members of the Jeune Mere club were pleasantly entertained last Wednesday, at the home of Mrs. Elaine Parcell in Provo. A feature of the program was a review of the life cf Frank Lloyd Wright, given by Mrs. Wilson K. Anderson of Provo. A delicious luncheon followed the entertainment being served to eight members and the following special guests: Mrs. Eva Allen, Mrs. Ina Williams of Spanish Span-ish Fork, Mrs. Helen Haymond of Provo, Mrs. Almina Madsen, Mrs. j Mary Bradford of Springville and : Mrs. Mariam Leonard of Hono-i Hono-i lulu, Hawaii. Members of the Jovalty club will be entertained Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Mabel Simkins. Sim-kins. All are urged to be present at 8 o'clock. Mrs. Norma Noe entertained at a birthday party for her son Dean who was eight years old Saturday. Satur-day. The guests enjoyed a tasty lunch, social chat and games.
