Show FERA WORK IS ORGANIZED Seven industrial districts were formed in Utah county Tuesday by action of the executive board of the FERA, which met in a long session in the city and county building. Formation of the seven major cities into industrial districts will -make it possible for the cities to come under the cash work projects, according to W. Lester Mangum, manager, and Charles Hopkins, chairman of the executive board. The remainder of the county outside of Lehi, American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Provo, Spanish Fork, Springville and Payson, will come under the conditions assigned to the rural districts. However, Utah county will be made into an industrial district and rfiay set up projects in the road districts provided they pay the compensation insurance. Must Be Approved All projects will be subject to the approval of the county and state committes. Projects under the CWA program which were discontinued when the work shut down on the last of March, are being re-numbered and reconsidered reconsid-ered to fit in with the new work program of the FERA. Provo city has already appropriated appro-priated $500 to be used as a premium pre-mium on compensation insurance for federal aid work. Provo is asking for an additional addi-tional $7,100 for the Provo canyon can-yon water-line development project, pro-ject, which would bring the total to $23,000 for the mile of new concrete conduit on the culinary line. This should be increased by another $2000 or $3000 in the opinion of several officials. |
