Show SOCIETY NEVS gifts were received by the guest of honor. A tasty luncheon concluded con-cluded the party. All new members especially are urged to attend the Legion auxiliary aux-iliary meeting next Wednesday evening, when formal iniation ex-exercises ex-exercises will take place. President Cleonda Miner also announces a splendid program arranged for the occasion. Jesse Brown of Salt Lake spent the week-end with relatives and friends here. Knneth Gabbitas, son of Mr. and George Gabbitas and Miss Mae Crft, daughter of Mr. and' Mrs. George Dattge of Provo were married last Thursday evening at the Dattge home by Bishop B. H. XCnudsen of the Second ward. Following Fol-lowing the ceremony luncheon was served to about 30 family members mem-bers and close friends. The couple will make their home in this city. A number of Springville friends, including Mr. and Mrs. Mark Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ar-thur Condie; Mr. and Mrs. La Celle Sumsion, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Miner were, guests of Mr. and Ms. Joseph Robison at an Easter party at their home Sunday afternoon, after-noon, i Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Watson and Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Williams of Salt Lake were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Wingate Monday. A history of Mrs. Ellen K. Wheeler by her daughter, Mrs. Hattie Dougall, will feature the meeting of the D. U. P. camp Springville next Thursday after- I noon, April 12, at the home of Mrs. Elsie Condie. Miss Bernice Tipton, Miss Fern Bate and Miss Margaret Hadley entertained at a nicely arranged shower Friday evening at the latters home in honor of Mrs. F. O. Crammer, formerally Miss Bernice Fausett, a bride of the past week. Games and a luncheon were enjoyable features of the party at which the honor guest received many beautiful and useful use-ful gifts, In attendance were; Mrs. Madge Crandall, who won high score pize for the games, Mrs. A. G. Johnson, Mrs. E. E. Knudsen, Mrs. G. G. Niell, Mrs. Ed. Anthon, Mrs. William Hansen, Han-sen, Mrs. Mabel Eimkins, Mrs. Kate Lassjen, Mrs. Lucy Hill, Mrs. Blanch Hansen, Miss Beatrice Wheeler, Miss Merlyn Hall, Miss Dona Salisbury, Miss Olive Childs, Miss Ida Packard, Miss Lucille Taylor, Miss Beth Loynds, Miss Aleen McKenzie, Miss Ruth Johnson, John-son, Mrs. J. M. Bate, the guest of honor and hostesses. The Daughters of Pioneers, Aaron Johnson camp, will meet at the Relic hall for their regular monthly program, at 2 p. m. Thursday, April 12. The Ava Delma bridge club members met with Mrs. Evelyn Fry at her home Wednesday evening. eve-ning. Club prizes for bridge were awarded to Mrs. Naomi Beardall and Mrs. Wealtha Mendenhall. Luncheon was served during the evening to nine members and three guests, Mrs. Wilbur Allen, Miss Bernice Jensen and Miss Margaret Pierce. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Crandall had as guests Monday, Mr. and Mrs. C. .H. Thorstensen and Dr. and Mrs. Earl Greenwell who were enrou te to their home at Ogden after a vacation trip to Boulder dam, California and Arizona. Mr. and Mis. Clyde Pace spent the week end with relatives and friends in this city. Mrs. Pace was recently made assistant manager of the Lener shop in Salt Lake. The N. I. P. club will be guests of Mrs. Clam Childs Saturday night at her home. All are re- quested to be present at 8 o'clock. Mrs. Clarence Spafford formally Miss Helen Crandall was honor guest at a miscellaneous shower given at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Martin Crandall, Thursday evening, Mrs. Amasia The Ladies' Literary club members mem-bers were delightfully entertained Saturday evning at th home of Mrs. Jessie Dalton. Principal E. E. Knudsen of the high school gave a comprehensive and especially interesting talk on the high school art exhibit. Mrs. Eva Crandall also entertained with piano solos. A dainty Easter luncheon was served by the hostess to twenty club members and guests. Mrs. Kate Lassen was in Salt Lake Monday to attend funeral services for Guy S. Piatt of that city. Mr. and Mrs. I. S. Brown were special guests of the Progressive "33" club party Saturday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul j Brown at Provo. The Misses Pauline and Madeline Madel-ine Murray and Joe Wendell of Kemmer, Wyo. were guests at the A. G. Thorn home the past weekend. week-end. They came especially to view the high school art exhibit. Mrs. J. T. Wheeler and Mrs. ' V. H. Progressive bride was the feature of entertainment after which a delicious de-licious luncheon wase, served to about thirty relatives and friends. The honor guest received many lovely bridal gifts. On Friday evening Mrs. J. M. Sumsion entertained at a bridal 3hower at her home for Mrs. Spafford, the guests includnig members of the Novelty Circle and other close friends. The girls spent an enjoyable time sewing tea towels. A tasty luncheon car-ied car-ied out in Easter colors concluded the party. The guest of honor received re-ceived many beautiful gifts from those attending. A talk on art by Professor B. F. Larson of the B. Y. U. will feature the meeting of the Home Culture club, Friday at 3 p. m. at the high school. Each club member is asked to bring a guest. Mr .and Mrs. Clifford Kindred and family of Idaho Falls, Ida., were the week-end guests of Mr. Kindred's parents, Mr, and Mrs. John R. Kinded in this city. Mrs. E. T. Oakes and Miss Ar-lene Ar-lene Mendenhall entertained members mem-bers of the Alpha Bta club at their home Monday evening. An Illustrated talk on "Reforestation" by V. C. Mendenhall was enjoyed by all. Tommie and Royal Oakes also entertained with readings. At the conclusion of the meeting a tasty luncheon was served to about 30- members and guests. |
