Show BANKERS FAVOR SENATE BILL . WASHINGTON, July 29 (U.E Rep. T. Alan Goldsborough, D., Md., today charged that New York bankers had begun a "systematic "sys-tematic effort" to coerce house conferees into accepting the modified modi-fied senate omnibus banking bill. Goldsborough, one of the conferees, confer-ees, said the conference situation between house and senate was delicate deli-cate and "this morning I discovered discov-ered a systematic effort by the great bankers of New York to coerce house conferees into adopting adopt-ing the. senate bill." He charged that New York bankers "were advising state banking associations" to use all "possible pressure" upon house members to have the seiate bill approved. "All the pressure that Wall street can bring indirectly through these state associations is being hurled against the house bill." |
