Show SCOUTS PLAN TO ATTEND JAMBOREE Ten Boy Scouts and two Scout-ters Scout-ters from Springville and Maple-ton Maple-ton arc anticipating one of the big events in their lives when they leave August 12 for the national scout jamboree at Washington, D. C. Scheduled to make the trip from this district are: Keith Kennedy, Russell Terry, Grant Clyde, First ward troop; Ruel Crandall, Lamar Miner, Second ward; Joe Salisbury, Lamar Friel, Third ward; Taylor Reynolds, Jim Alleman, Fourth ward; Robert Bird, Mapleton. G. F. Beardall and M. W. Bird will accompany the group as Scouters. The boys, all of whom have attained at-tained the rank of first class scout, will finance themselves on the trip as will also the scouters. All Should, however, have earned, themselves, as much of the money as possible. Upon leaving Springville Aug. 12, the group will participate in a two-days preliminary camp at Provo. Detailed instruction will then be given the boys, who will be divided into groups, with a scouter in charge of each group. During the trip, stops will be made at Denver, Colo.; Omaha, Nebr.; Chicago, 111.; Detroit, Mich., and Niagara Falls. Interesting places in and around Palmyra, N. Y. also will be visited. The scouts will be in Washington, D. C, about a week. |
