Show SOCIETY NEVSi Long Beach, Calif, .have just returned re-turned from a ten day's vacation in Yellowstone park. Miss Ruth Vane of this city, has returned from an enjoyable visit at Bicknell, where she was the guest of Miss Hortense Brinker-hoff Brinker-hoff the past month. While there she visited the Wayn Wonderland, the parks and other places of interest in-terest in southern Utah. Complimentary to Miss Geral-dine Geral-dine Packard who is visiting her sister Mrs. Lawrence Reynolds, a number of friends entertained at a party. Lunch and games were enjoyable features with the following fol-lowing guests in attendance, Miss Vera Blackett, Miss Melba Strong, Miss Packard, Miss Helen Johnson, John-son, Mrs. Elizabeth Quinn, John Smith, Frank Wilson, Fred Wilson, Wil-son, Kldcn Smith, Blake Reynolds, Rex Johnson, Leon Smith and Rex Barton. The Boosters club, social unit of the high school, and their partners part-ners were entertained Monday at a lawn party at the home of Miss Esma Mendenhail at Mapleton. A delicious luncheon was served to nearly Lnirly c:ub mourners and their partners. A treasure hunt and novel games were especially enjoyed during the evening. Mrs, Lawrence Reynolds entertained enter-tained members of the P. P. L. 16 club at her home Tuesday afternoon. after-noon. Cards was the feature of entertainment and at the close of the party a dainty luncheon was served by the hostess. The Gatherers swarm of the Fourth ward M. I. A. recently returned re-turned from several days' vacation vaca-tion in Hobble Creek canyon with their leader Miss Lucy Roylance. Members of the class included Miss Vione Robinson, Miss Rae Gabbitas, Miss Clair Rowland, Miss lia Clyde, Miss Lois Johnson, Miss Ileen Cook, Miss Kate Spencer, Spen-cer, Miss Viola Miller. Miss Francis Brimhall has just returned from a two weeks's vacation vaca-tion in California. She accompanied accompan-ied Dr. and Mrs. Frank Reynolds and their daughter Ann of Provo. One the return trip they spent some time in Mexico. S. L. Mendenhail and grandson, La Mar Weight have returned from a ten days' trip cast. Mr. Mendenhail drove a new car home. Mrs. Sarah Loynds of this city spent a few days of the past week with her daughter, Mrs. W. H.. Brown and family at Copperton. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Dallin and baby of Long Beach, Calif., formerly for-merly of this city are spending several days' vacation with the former's for-mer's mother, Mrs. George Dallin ' and other relatives here. Mrs. Fred Hansen and daughter Lois visited last week with the former's sons, Floyd and Almon Harmcr ?.nd families at Payson. Mrs. Polly Day of Elmo, Utah, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Alfred Weight and family here. Miss Bessie Finley and Miss Mae Finley have returned from a three weeks' trip to Minneapolis, Minn., where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Olsen and also attended at-tended the university there. . J. A. Reynolds recently returned return-ed from a visit with his daughter !and family in California. Mrs. Roy BUinchard of Denver, Colo., formerly of Springville is visiting rciaitves and friends here. Miss Mildred Knight of St. George is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. George CrandalJ and family in Springville. Mrs. A. W. Chcrrington and Mrs. A. Y. Wheeler spent several days of the past week in Salt Lake City visiting their husbands who are confined at the L. D. S. i hospital. Mr. Wheeler who sustained sus-tained a compound fracture to his leg over two weeks ago is recovering recov-ering slowly, Bishop Cherrington's condition is reported somewhat I better. i I Mrs. Gladys Harrison teacher in i the domestic art departments of the high school the past year is attending the B. Y. U. summer school at Aspen Grove. She plans to attend school the coming year at the university in Berkeley, Calif. A number of relatives who were in Springville to attend the annual Crandall homecoming las tweck, were Friday conducted through the Relic hall by Mrs. Mary J. Finley. The Social Twelve club wilt meet Thursday at the home of Mrs. Lee Sumsion beginning at 8 o'clock. Miss Conda Riding entertained a group of friends at a slumber party Tuesday night and waffle breakfast Wednesday. Guests included in-cluded Miss Lois Johnson, Miss Ila.Clyde, Miss Mary Louise Win-gate, Win-gate, Miss La Vern Sanford, Miss Jane Lee, Miss - Lucille Metcalf, Miss Marjorie Child and Miss El-ma El-ma Haymond.
