Show "Why the maternity ward, of course," the nurse answered. "Then get me out here in a hurry," Miss Statchouse screamed, "I am only here for a rest." It developed that the physician had two patients going to the hospital hos-pital the same day and the nurse had made the natural mistake. Patient Gets Into The Wrong Hospital Ward DENVER, Colo., July 30 (UP) A red-haired girl in the state motor vehicle department had a narrow escape recently. She had been feeling' none too well and consulted a physician. "What you need, young" lady," the physician said, "is a complete rest. You are op. the verge of a nervous breakdown." As a hospital is a; good place to go for a complete rest the redhead red-head decided that she would take three or four days in one of the leading hospitals of the city. The . physician said he would make all the necessary arrangements. That same afternoon she called a taxicab and rolled away to the hospital. She went to the desk of I the nurse in charge and told she was 'Dr. So and So's patient." "Oh, Yes," the nurse said. "Where is your husband?" "I haven't a husband," the girl said, somewhat taken aback. "Tish! Tish!" said the nurse, "that is indeed too bad," and she fang for an orderly. Hiss Statchouse was loaded into a wheelchair, onto the elevator, ele-vator, and taken to the upper floor of the hospital. Down the hall and into a room she was wheeled. After being established in -her bed she noticed there was a certain cer-tain amount of noise. She could hear babies crying and other distracting dis-tracting noises not so good for a rest patient. . She complained to the nurse, and was told that she would soon be happy to hear the little voices. Then she asked to have her room changed but the nurse told her that this was the place for patients of her kind. Gradually the red-head tumbled. ' What department of he hospital hos-pital is this?" she asked. |
