The man, whose name Newman said was Albert Sebret. was arrested ar-rested by Las Vegas police on a vagrancy charge last night. Submitted Sub-mitted to routine questioning, he was quoted by officers as saying: "Yeh, I know what you want to pin on me the Mattson kinap-ing." kinap-ing." Sebret admitted to officers he had been released from an insane asylum 14 miles from Tacoma, Wash., scene of the December, 1936, kidnaping-murder of Charles Mattson, Jr., ten days after the boy was taken from his home. "His arrest is just one of those things," Newman said. "It doesn't look like anything special, but you never can tell, and we will make a full investigation." Contrary to Las Vegas reports, Newman said he was not detailing a man to go to Las Vegas to question Sebret. |
