Show Activites of Students at j The Universities LOGAN Keith Boyer, son of Mr, and Mrs. Selvoy J. Boyer of Springville, and junior student stu-dent at the Utah State Agricultural Agricul-tural college, has recently been appointed by the Ag. council to tha position . of publicity chairman-of tne forthcoming Ag. and Home Ec. show, to be held at the college, October 2G, 27 and 28. Mr Boyer is a graduate ot Springville high school, where he participated in such activities as music and public speakng. He graduated from high school as an honor student and was grant-ad grant-ad a Union Pacific scholarship to Utah State. He has also been active in the FFA and 4-H club organizations and was elected president of the I college chapter of the 4-H cluD 1 on the college campus last year. Since coming to Utah State he has become affiliated with the local chapter of Alpha Zeta, ' honorary agricultural fraternity. Keith is a reporter for the Ag. club and a staff member of Student Stu-dent Life, campus newspaper, and only recently appointed to the position of an advanced officer of-ficer in the campus R O T C organization. j (Special to Springville Herald) ! Pauline Clyde of Springville, a i University of Utah junior, has been appointed to the committee commit-tee in charge of Homecoming week on November 2, 3 and 4. The committee will have in charge all activities relating to this largest single activity of the autumn quarter. Miss Clyde was also elected to the position of social chairman of the Apmin group on t'he campus, a fine arts society. The first social event on the Apmin calendar is an informal infor-mal tea to be held Sunday at the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority house, in honor of the outstanding outstand-ing students in fine arts. (Special to Springville Herald) Mary Louise Wingute, U. of U. freshman from Springville, was among the girls honored at the Carlson Hall birthday party par-ty held on Friday night. The party is given each month, to celebrate the birthdays of girls in residence at Carlson which occur during that month. The party is formal, and guests of special interest arc invited. Friday's Fri-day's special guests included President and Mrs. George Thomas, Thom-as, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ashton, (Mr. Ashton was the architect in charge of building Carlson residence hall), Mr and Mrs. C. G. Sheldon, parents of Miss Eleanor Sheldon, assistant director direc-tor of the hall ; und Mr, and Mrs. S. W. Mote, of the University Univer-sity purchasing department. (Special to Springville Herald) PROVO, Utah Phyllis Smart of Springville, is one of 11 coeds who have been pledged thin year as members of White Key, girls' service sorority at Brigham Young university here. Membership in the organization is honorary and limited in number. num-ber. Girls are elected as members mem-bers on the basis of service, .scholastics, character, and leadership. lead-ership.
