Show England Steps Op Taxation Levies LONDON, April 25 (111!) The j government presenLed to the house of commons today a 1939-40 budget bud-get providing for defense expenditures expen-ditures of 1630,000,000 ($2,949,-975,000), ($2,949,-975,000), the largest in peacetime peace-time history. Sir John Simon, chancellor of the exchequer, warned that there must be an additional taxation, although the basic income tax rate of 27 V& per cent will remain unchanged.
