Show 250 KIWANIANS ATTEND ART BANQUET Sponsored ' by the Springville Kiwanis club the annual art banquet ban-quet for Kiwanis clubs throughout through-out the state was held at the high school Thursday night. Approximately Ap-proximately . 250 club members and their partners were in attendance. at-tendance. District Governor George H. Lowe of Ogden gave a comprehensive compre-hensive and enjoyable talk on art and its effects on The individual. He compared ancient and modern art and also complimented the city on the art project. Other speakers were Henry Hall, lieutenant governor of Helper Help-er and Dr. D. VV. Henderson of Salt Lake City, international trustee of Kiwanis. Two lovely pictures were given I as attendance awards to Mrs. Lowe of Ogden and to Alex Hed-I Hed-I quist of Provo. The pictures were j painted by Wayne Johnson and J- H. Stansfield, respectively. I Max Mendenhall gave a vocal solo; Mrs. Mae Groesbeck and Mrs. Jessie Dalton, a vocal duet; Elisha Warner of Spanish Fork, a humorous talk; the Condie sisters sis-ters and lone Averett, instrumental instru-mental selections. Ernest A. Strong was toastmaster . with President M. W. Bird in charge. |
