Show PHILPy SIGNS I FOUR SLABMEN Provo Tirrips' cnances for a st ate championship today took on a new hue with the announcement announce-ment by Manager John Philpy that he had signed up Jack White, Howard Stone, Edward J'Min and George Zubeck. The four rookies turned in pleasing performances on the mound when the Timps took Carbon Car-bon into camp Sunday .afternoon in the season's opener. Always a problem to the Provo club, the pitching department is expected to be stronger this season than ever before due to Ihe addition of White, Stone, P'-nn and Znheek. Sf'jne and Perm, both students at Utah State college looked particularly par-ticularly good Sunday in striking owl Carbon's leading 'hitters. The college youths are expected to move to Provo as soon as their school work is finished in June, Philpy said, i Provo's scheduled game with the Salt Lake Bees for Sunday 1 was up in the air today. The Bees' manager wants the Provo club to perform in Salt Lake City instead of Provo as previously pre-viously planned. Bob Bullock was in Salt Lake this morning trying to straighten out the schedule. Bullock said he would try to arrange a game for Tuesday at Provo if the Timps go to Suit Lake Sunday. |
