Grant and Miss Catherine Toy both of Bingham have returned to their homes following fol-lowing a visit at the Joseph Grant residence in this city. A large delegation of Spring-ville Spring-ville Legion and auxiliary members mem-bers left Thursday to attend the state convention at Cedar City, the latter part of the week. Among the nicely arranged social events of the past week was the dinner party at Valley Tavern given by Professor Alice Reynolds of the B. Y. U., Provo, Wednesday evening, complimentary compliment-ary to her niece, Mrs. Alice Cluff Wilson of Montrose, Calif., who is visiting here. The long dining table was. centered with the season's sea-son's flowers and covers were laid for Mr. and. Mrs- A. W. Harmer, Mrs. Millie Martain, Mrs. Amy Donaldson, Miss Elizabeth Harmer Har-mer and the guest of honor. Following Fol-lowing dinner the time was spent with social chat and music. Mrs. Jessie Wfckman of Berkeley, Berke-ley, Calif., is spending her vacation vaca-tion with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sanford in Spring-ville. Spring-ville. Ball games, and other sports together with sumptuous canyon dinner featured the occasion. M.i.-iS Hazel Anderson, who -spent tlu; past year at the Univor.sity of New York receiving her Master's dfgree from that school this upring, is spending a month with hor parents Dr. and Mrs. George A. AJideison in Springville. Following Fol-lowing her visit here will leave for Teire Haute, iiui., where she will lie an instructor in the Indiana Htfitc Teachers' College, the coming com-ing year. Huish and son Richard of Berkeley, Berke-ley, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas 1 Bird of New York, Miss Carol 1 Bird, the host and hostess and son. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Miss Ada Boor man of Niagara Falls, N. Y., is visiting her brother, broth-er, K. V. Boorman and family in this city. Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Schwartz and son Tommy have just returned from a delighuul two weeks motor mo-tor trip to Kentucky and several places of interest- en route. At Flemingburg, they visited Mr. Schwartz' mother, Mrs. Jennie Schwartz and other relatives. They also spent some time at Lexington Lex-ington and Maysville. They visited the St. Mary's of the Woods school in Indiana and also spent a short time at Cincinnati, Ohio and Springfield, 111. Complimentary to Miss Ada Boorman who. is visiting here from New York, Mr. and Airs. G. W. Fricl entertained at a nicely ai ranged dinner at their homie Saturday evening. Lovely hybrid tea roses formed an attractive centerpiece for the long dining table and gladiolus and ferns were employed in the entertaining rooms. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. E. V. Boorman, Miss Ada Boorman, Mrs. Mabel Nivers, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Baker and the host and hostess. After dinner the group enjoyed social chat and also motored to Lake Side to view the bathing contest. Mis. Austin Roylance, and son Fred and daughter, Mrs. Melba Scalmanini the latter of San Fancisco, visited early this week with Mrs. Roylance's sister, Mrs. J. E. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Baxter and daughters Ruth, Delia and Bonnie Bon-nie and son Hoyt, have recently returned from a delightful vacation vaca-tion trip to California. They visited places of interest in the vicinity of San . Francisco and Los Angeles. In honor of Mrs. Leona Dalby and children of Oakland, Calif., who are visiting at the home of the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Sumsion, an outing was held in Hobble Creek canyon Thursday afternoon. A large group of relatives and friends attended and enjoyed the time with ball games and social chat climaxed with a delicious picnic supper. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Davis and daughters Evelyn and Marian and Mi'ss Cleo Thorpe, have recently returned from a pleasant vacation to Yellowstone National park. The group was gone about a week. Mrs. W. G. Parker of Salt Lake City spent the past week with relatives and friends in Springville. Mrs. Ellen Hogan of Salt Lake City has returned to her home after a two weeks visit with her daughter, Mrs. Willis Weight and family here. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Murdock and children of New Jersey returned re-turned to their home Wednesday following three weeks visit with Mrs. Murdock's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde (Jourley wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lois, to David Montague of Payson, the marriage mar-riage to take place Saturday, August 13. The young couple will make their home in Montana. Numerous showers are being planned for the bride-to-be. Mrs. A. G. Johnson was hostess to a number of guests Sunday, which included Dr. and Mrs. N.H. Packard of Ogden, Utah; Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Tackett of Portland, Port-land, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Carter of Riverside, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Packard of Twin Falls, Idaho. A group of friends enjoyed a slumber party Wednesday night. The following were present, Jane , Strong, Jacqueline Senior, Margaret Mar-garet Larson, Elaine Boyer, and Helen Dunn. Margaret Larson just returned from a few weeks' visit to placos of interest throughout Utah. She way of Sun Valley, Idaho and returning re-turning down the coast via San Francisco and Los Angeles. Mrs. Fred Hansen spent the week end in Payson, because of the illness of her son, Almon Harmer, Har-mer, who underwent an operation for appendicitis. Mr. and Mrs. Farn Averett and sons, Budd and Gary, spent the past week with relatives and friends at Burley, Idaho. Chief Lloyd Bird, Roy Dispain, Leonard Taylor), Bissell While, and Alma Fullmer, delegates to the state firemen's convention at Price, and their wives spent a delightful time at the convention city last week. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Nelson spent the past week on a tour of Bryces canyon and other places of interest in southern Utah.
