Show UTAH BANKER FACES CHARGES SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. (U,R) A complaint charging embezzlement and violation of the national bank act, was filed here today against William Wil-liam Allen, 54, missing Magna, Mag-na, Utah, bank manager held by F. B. I. agents at Kansas City. Jay Newman, head of the F. B. I. field office here, said Allen will be returned here immediately. Bond was set at .$7500 by U. S. Commissioner Commis-sioner E. D. Dunn, who issued the complaint. Missing since May 14, Allen was arrested yesterday when federal fed-eral agents intercepted a telegram that he attempted to send his wife in Colorado Springs, requesting money "so I can go back home and face it." He is accused of embezzling .?5,100 in cash from the bank he managed, the Magna branch of the First Security Bank of Utah. Allen readily admitted the theft, but insisted that he took only S3.100, Kansas City police said. He said he had been worried because the bank was losing money. He had only 10 cents on his person per-son when officers arrested him. Prior to his going to Magna, Allen was a teller at the Knight bank in Provo. D |
