Show Old Cabin Given As Relic to Be Preserved For Future Generations Plans are well under way by the Sons and Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Springville camps, to move one of the first log cabins Duilt in the old Springville fort, to a place where it will be preserved pre-served and marked as a pioneer relic. The cabin is located on First West and Center street and has been given to the local Sons and D. U. P. organizations by Mark Boyer, who recently purchased pur-chased the property on Which it stands. The cabin will be moved to the southwest section of the city j park to remain until a more suitable suit-able site is established. In the meantime a movement is under way for the establishing of another an-other park in the city to be located lo-cated in the vicinity of the first Springville settlement and to be known as Pioneer park. If plans for this project mature the log cabin will find a permanent place along with other relics in the park. Supervising the cleaning, moving mov-ing and otherwise preparing the cabin for its new location, are Captain Josie Alleman, Camp Aaron Johnson; Captain Lela Sumsion, Camp Springville; Captain Cap-tain Zelma Beardall, Camp Kolob and M. W. Bird, captain of the Sons of Pioneers organization. |
