Show What's Doing In Kiwanis ; One of the most unusual and reportedly re-portedly interesting meetings of the entire Kiwanis year is scheduled sched-uled for Thursday night, when Albert J. Coan, world traveler, Zambesi cowboy and former University Uni-versity of Pennsylvania student, will tell of his travels and unique experiences. The Round-the-World traveler expects to make traveling his life work and explains to his many interested audiences that he "earns as he goes." He is acclaimed ac-claimed one of the most interesting interest-ing speaker among world travelers travel-ers and has also written many fine articles on 'his varied trips. President F. C. I'ackard will be toastmaster at the club meeting and every .club members is expected ex-pected to be in attendance. A discussion of projects and plans for civic 'improvement featured feat-ured the Kiwanis club meeting here last Thursday night. The meeting was in the form of an open forum with Mayor A. O. Thorn acting as toastmaster. Among the major items discussed dis-cussed was the proposition of establishing a new park here to be known as ' Pioneer park and located on the site of the old fort where the first Springville company of pioneers settled. W. W. Clyde, S. J. Boyer and J. Y. Bearnson were named to represent repre-sent the Kiwanis club In furthering further-ing plans for the park. It was also suggested at the meeting that a campaign be started start-ed to eliminate unsanitary corrals, cor-rals, old and useless barns- and other buildings throughout the city by establshinc: zoning district. dis-trict. W. J. Phillips, W. R. Ed-dington Ed-dington and Harrison Conover were named on this project. It was also urged at the meeting meet-ing to encourage citizens to purchase pur-chase more postal stamps thereby increasing postal sales wilh an aim of securing a new post office for this city. |
