Show SOCIETY j Ava Delma club members were j guests of Mrs. Helen Beardall at j her home Wednesday evening. Progressive Pro-gressive auction bridge was played after a dainty lunch. Prizes were won by Mrs. Margaret Zabriskie i and Miss Helen McKenzie. Others j present were Mrs. Vera Zabriskie, Mrs. Virginia Harker, Mrs. Viola Smith, Mrs. Pearl Smith, Mrs. Neva Kindred, Mrs. Camille Taylor, Tay-lor, Mrs. Evelyn Fry, Mrs. Carrie Tripp, and guests Miss Lucille Henrie, Mrs. Wealtha Mendenhall, Mrs. Naomi Beardall and Miss McKenzie. Mc-Kenzie. Mrs. Ernest A. Strong and Mrs. Joseph Grant accompanied their husbands to Las Vegas, Nev., on a business trip the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ashcraft of this city announce the marriage of their daughter, Melba, to Ivan Sorenson of Provo. The Mi-Kan-Wee girls of Kolob stake Primary organization are planning an elaborate entertainment entertain-ment for their mothers, to be held Thursday, May 5. in the First ward amusement hall. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Forsyth, Mr. and Mrs. Erie Boorman, and Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Lyall, of this city, were guests at the J. R. club party given by Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Hitchcock, Hitch-cock, Wednesday evening at their home in Provo. The annual senior hop held Friday Fri-day evening in the high school was a success socially and financially. Many out-of-town students attended. at-tended. Complimentary to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gower, who are leaving soon to reside in Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Robertson entertained enter-tained at a party at their home Wednesday evening. Progressive "wing" was the feature of entertainment enter-tainment and luncheon was served. Present were Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Thorn, Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Mendenhall, Menden-hall, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Leo Robertson, Robert-son, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Law, the honor guests, and host and hostess. hos-tess. Mrs. G. O. Kennedy and daughter, daugh-ter, Glenna ,left Saturday morning for Las Vegas, where they will visit Mr. Kennedy for two weeks. They were accompanied by Donloe Kennedy Ken-nedy and Jack Booth of Salt Lake. Members of the Ladies' Literary club and their mothers will be entertained en-tertained at a mother's day program pro-gram and social at . the home of Mrs. Jessie Dalton Saturday afternoon. after-noon. Mrs. Lowry Anderson is assisting as-sisting hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bird motored to Salt Lake Thursday, accompanied accompan-ied by Miss Betty Ginn, who has spent the week visiting here. Mrs. E. A. Bryan. Mrs. Jones, Mrs. G. D. Kennedy, Mrs. W. A. Bird and Mrs. Ralph R. Weight were guests of Mrs. R. O. Thorn at dinner and quilting Wednesday at her home in Benjamin. The Mothers' Study club will entertain en-tertain their mothers with a program pro-gram and social Saturday, May 7, at the Second ward amusement hall. Miss Dona Salisbury, Miss Helen Palfreyman, Miss Elda Hanson, Miss Bertha Bearnson, Miss Fay Averett, and Miss Fay Bearnson of Spanish Fork. The Alpha Beta club Mother's day social and program will be held Friday, May 6, at the home of Mrs. Vilate Reynolds, with Mrs. D. P. Brinton and Mrs. David Reese assisting hostesses. Mrs. Jacob Felix, assisted by Mrs. Grace Loveridge, Mrs. Cassie Childs, and Mrs. Etta Thorpe, entertained en-tertained at a bridal shower Wednesday Wed-nesday evening for Mrs. Melba A. Sorenson. A nicely-arranged program pro-gram was given, after which lunch was served to nearly fifty neighbors, neigh-bors, relatives and friends. Many beautiful gifts were received by the honored guest. Teachers of the Jefferson school entertained those of the Grant, Lincoln and Washington at a 'kid's' party Thursday evening at the home of Miss Hilda Clegg. Miss Ada Smith, Miss Mary Roylance and Miss Ruth Johnson were assisting as-sisting hostesses. Children's games were played with all dressed In children's costumes.
