Show SOCIETY NEVS Rdward Boyer entertained a number of friends at dinner at his home Sunday, some of which were former misisonary companions. The party attended the art exhibit during dur-ing the afternoon and included Mr. and Mrs. John Ververits, Don Van Dan, Miss Ada Strong, Ward M. Cameron and Reed W. Farnsworth of Salt Lake and Miss Helen Fox of this city. Mrs. Lula Tipton was hostess to the P. S. club at her home last Thursday evening. Bridge was played with lunch served after. Mrs. Roy Hardy of Provo won the Starr, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jarvis, Mrs. Jane Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Abe Uulock, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Loveridge, Mr. and Mrs. Wells Crandall, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Huntington., Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Dallin. Other guests were President Presi-dent Hannah Mendenhall and Bishop Mendenhall of Mapleton, President J. Emmett Bird and wife and husbands of executive officers, Willis Sumsion, T. E. Child, Dan i Witney, Lee Sumsion, Lewis Clegg, Mark Law and June Pierce. Mrs. Rheumia Weight entertained entertain-ed n number of ladies at an old- fashioned quilting at her home Fri- I day. A delicious dinner was served serv-ed at noon. Present were : Mrs. Nora Clyde, Mrs. Eliza Thorn, Mrs. Elvia C. Houtz of Provo, Mrs. Pearl Hall, Mrs. Ida Weight, Mrs. Nell Wiscombe, Mapleton,, Mrs. Bertha Rothwell and Mrs. Buleah Whiting. Mis. Edgar Best is spending this week with relatives in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Will Hatfield of Oakland, California, with their daughter Mrs. Harold Clark and her daughter of Provo were guests ! of Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Child Jr., at 1 dinner Saturday. Daughters of Pioneers Camp Springville will meet with Mrs. Ellen McKenzie next Thursday afternoon. All are urged to be present. Members of the art board met at a business meeting and luncheon at 5 o'clock Monday in the high school with E. E. Knudsen, Wayne Johnson, John-son, J. F. Wingate, M. R. Straw and J. L. Whiting attending. The Ladies' Literary club of Springville pleasantly surprised Mrs. Alta J. Faux, former member mem-ber of the club at her home Monday Mon-day evening. Mrs. Lela Boyer Packard Pack-ard entertained with a number of vocal selections. Games formed a part of the evening's entertainment. Delicious refreshments were served to twenty. high score favor during the evening eve-ning and Mrs. Maud Roylance, sec-onn sec-onn nrize. Eight members attend at-tend p'.l N. I. K club members were guests of Mrs. Fay Thomas at her home Saturday evening. Calla-lilies and roses decorated the entertaining rooms. Spring favors were used in the luncheon which was served to 16 members and guests. High score prizes for 500 went to. Mrs. Audrey Jensen, member, and Miss Virginia Child guests. Others present were Lucille Packard, Louise Brown, Ann Stewart, Sarabell Stewart, Mabel Averett, Afton Palfreyman, Luell Straw, Mary Bird, Clara Childs, Cloris Kindred, Blanche Hales, Kate Payne and Mrs. Ralph Thomas of Provo, the latter three being guests. Members of the Home Culture club will entertain with their annual an-nual Mother's day program Friday afteinoon at the home of Mrs. H. McDougall. The Busy Fingers club was guest of Mrs. Lloyd Bird Friday Fri-day afternoon. After a time spent sewing lunch was served by the hostess to eight club members. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Felix have received word of their son's re-1 lease from the Swiss-German L. D. S. mission. He is now touring the various countries in Europe but expects to be in New York during the middle of this month. Mr. and Mrs. Felix plan to meet him in New York City. A number of friends surprised Mrs. E. L. Faux at her home in Provo Monday evening.
