Mrs. Eliza Thorn entertained with two readings and Al isd Helen Palfrey man furnished two vocal selections. A silent tribute trib-ute to the late Mrs. Rhoda Groesbeck Groes-beck and to Mrs. Elizabeth Giles, pioneers of this community, was observed. Refreshments were served to fifty ladies present. Mrs. Hilda Averett, Mrs. Martha Thorn, Mrs. Birdella Reynolds and Mrs. Rachel Mendenhall were welcomed wel-comed as new camp members. Mrs. Jane Stewart entertained a number of ladies at her home last Wednesday afternoon, the occasion being- her birthday anniversary. Social chat and music were enjoyed enjoy-ed together with a delicious tray luncheon. Present were her Bisters, Bis-ters, Mrs. James Nelson and Mrg. Uri Stewart, Mrs. J. Paul Jones, Mrs. Dan Williams and Miss Fay November 17. Scouts of tho Fourth ward under un-der the direction of Lewis Cutler and Ltndsoy Parker enjoyed an outing in Spring Creek canyon last Friday evening. Mrs. Leola ILwrng gave a party for Mrs. Lew Averett at the Robertson Rob-ertson home Tuesday afternoon. About twenty friends were present and enjoyed the afternoon in sewing. sew-ing. Tasty refreshments were served by the hostesses. Mrs. Edward Anthoiv of this city gava a, delightful miscellaneous shower at her home Wednesday evening, in honor of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. David T. Friel, a recent bride. A large number of relatives and friends from Springville Spring-ville and Provo attended. John Allernan is convalescing from painful body bruises suffered in a fall from his tractor in the west field, Thursday. - In making a short turn near the drain canal, the tractor turned over the bank throwing Mr. Allernan into a clump of thick brush several feet away. i . ,.. , Mrs. Marjorle Frandsen entertained enter-tained a number of friends at a card party Thursday afternoon. Progressive D00 was played followed follow-ed by a tasty lunch.. Present were Mrs. Lela Nelson, Mrs. Thelma Clark. Mrs. A. E. Wignall, Mrs. Sterling, Mrs. Clconda Miner, Mrs. Flora Maiben, and Mrs. Delia Clark. ' Choristers and organists of the various ward Relief society organizations, organ-izations, meet at the home of Mfs. Hannah Oyde Thursday evening in a get-together social to talk over the program for the coming two j months. About eighteen officers attended. Mrs. Eva Crandall gave a ' review of the opera "Lohengrin" with several piano selections. Mrs. Mattic Henderson, Mrs. Marjorie Bird and Mrs. Oscar Boyer also furnished music. Refreshments were served at the conclusion of the meeting. A number of friends were guests of Mrs. Bernard Robertson at a card club party Wednesday afternoon after-noon at her home. Progressive 500 was featured, with a tasty lunch served by the hostess to Mrs. Fay Hancock, Mrs. Delia Clark, Mrs. Thelma Clark, Mrs. Gertrude Clements, Mrs. Loween Palfreyman, Mr3. Reta Kelly, Mrs. Leola Ewing and Mrs. Zina Metcaif. Mr. and Ivlrs. Lee Metcaif of Richfield, Idaho, announce the engagement en-gagement of their daughter Utahna, to Leo Felix, son of Mr. and Mrs. j Nelson all of Spanish Fork, Mrs. Walt Jones, Mrs. Mary Miner, Mrs. James Kirkman, Mrs. Phillip Stewart, Stew-art, Mrs. Floyd Stewart, Mrs. Dean Stewart and Miss Wanda Stewart of this city. Ava Delma cluB members were guests of Mrs. Wayne Smith on Wednesday evening. Bridge was played and Mrs. Carrie Tripp won higW score prize. The consolation Invor went to Mrs. Helen Beardall. Luncheon was served early in the evening to eleven club members and Mrs. Ileen Bird and Mrs. Mercedes Mer-cedes Anderson, invited guests. The next club meeting will be held November 23 at the home of Mrs. Norma Noe. Mrs. J. E. Hoyle, Mrs. E. W. Brown, Mrs. Frank Brown, Mrs. Andrew Peterson, Mrs. Manferd Huttfhinson and Mrs. Will Brown were guests at a party given Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Douglas Page in Provo, complimentary com-plimentary to Mrs. Mark Brown. Mrs. Lee Sumsion will be hostess to the Social Twelve club members at her home Tmirsday evening, Jacob Felix of this city. The marriage mar-riage will take place the latter part of this month in the Salt Lake temple. Complimentary to Miss Utahna j Metcaif, a miscellaneous shower was given by her aunts, Mrs. B. D. Palfreyman and Mrs. Hilton Robertson Rob-ertson at the home of the latter on Saturday eventing. About forty relatives and friends attended. Miss Metcaif was the recipient of many beautiful bridal gifts. |
