Show PLAN WORKED OUT TO ASSIST IRRIGATORS The problem of securing water for irrigation purposes in Springville Spring-ville vicinity was partly solved Thursday evening, when officers of the Springville irrigation district and the Springville Irrigation company com-pany met with Kenneth Borg, engineer en-gineer of the Strawberry water user's project, and drew up an agreement whereby Springville will be granted some free dividend water, with the understanding that it must be replaced next year. President Arthur Finley presided at the meeting. Under normal conditions water from Hobble Creek has supplied the farmers here- until late spring. This source, however, was exhausted exhaust-ed this year by April 1, as compared com-pared with June 1 last year and June 28 in 1929. Springville's Strawberry water shares were used this year by July 7 and only by-the present plan are hundreds of acres in this vicinity saved from drought. A similar water borrowing plan also has been extended by the Strawberry weer project to Maple-ton, Maple-ton, Spanish Fork, Payson, Salem and surrounding districts, many of which are reported in a much worse condition from lack of water than are our' local farms. |
