Show MOTHERS AND EAGLE SCOUTS GET AWARDS Mrs. Surah Palfreyman. Mrs. Henry M. Weight and Mrs. Lorenzo Weight, mothers of three Eagle scouts of this district, were presented present-ed with official Eagle scout pins at impressive honor court exercises In the Springville Fourth ward chapel Sunday evening. Their sons Warwick. Gordon and Karl, respectfully, and Earl S. Groesbeck received Eagle scout badges during the program. The honorary recognition of mothers of Eagle scouts Is new in. scout activities, these three mothers being the first in this district to receive re-ceive such honors. The meeting was a joint session for all wards in the stake. President J. E. Bird presided. Prof. Lowry Nelson, president of the Timpanogos council. Provo, made the awards to the Eagle scouts and spoke briefly on the progress of scout work, explaining benetits derived through various scout activities. Owen Lambson paid tribute to the honored mothers, moth-ers, and each Eagle seout explained how he had reached the highest rank. Lewis Cutler, of the Fourth ward conducted the preliminary exercises exer-cises and with Clifford Crandall, scoutmaster of the Second ward, presented the Eagle scouts. Commissioner Com-missioner V. C. Mendenhall and President J. Emmett Bird spoke briefly. Music was furnished by Leon Dallin and Doris Bird of the First ward. |
