Show JONES' MATCH ENDSJN DRAW SALT LAKE CITY. May 28 (L'.KI When Henry Jones, Provo welterweight, wel-terweight, tossed Ralph Morley, Tooele, from the ring at their bout in McCullough's arena in Salt Lake City Friday evening. Referee Mc-Cullough Mc-Cullough was unable to, tell whether wheth-er the throw was intentional or not, so called the bout a draw. However, the bout was a draw in nothing but name. The Provo veteran won one fall with a whip-wristlock whip-wristlock in 15 minutes and had the misfortune to lose another when he butted himself into slum-Iberland slum-Iberland against a ringpost in an attempt at a flying tackle. Morley, nearly out himself fell on the Provoan for the fall. Flying Tackle Jones made one flying tackle which was successful in knocking his opponent to the mat and plunged plung-ed across the ring in another which was an attempt to finish the match. Morley, , however, slumped down again and Jones catapulted to the ringpost, with the fall result. Jones demonstrated liis mastery of the wrestling game in the match and applied hold after hold on Morley. He was unusually adept with the wristlocks and had his opponent in danger repeatedly with his punishing 'arm hold. Morley seemed unable to obtain a real hold on the Provoan. Ira Dern, Salt Lake heavyweight won a match from Cahrley San-ten, San-ten, the Missouri Kid, two matches of three, winning the last when Santen leaped onto his shoulders and into an airplane. Jones. left Provo Saturday night for Salem, Oregon, where he will wrestle Tuesday. Wednesday night he wrestles a match m Bellingtaam, Washington, Thursday evening, he will go to the mat in Vancouver, B. C, Saturday evening. The Provo welter, who was working work-ing on his farm in Provo Saturday, after his Salt Lake match, said that he was slated for a match in Alaska within the next two or three weeks and would wrestle in Honolulu in July. |
