Show FATHERS. SONS OUTING TO BE HELD JUNE 8 Plans are progressing for the annual father's and son's outing in Kelley's Grove next Wednesday beginning at 1 p. ni. with gathering wood for the evening bonfire program. pro-gram. At 2 o'clock' archery contests will be held under the direction of E. S. Groesbeck; a water boiling contest, directed by Lewis Cutler; a knot tieing contest with J. E. Clayton in charge, and a signaling contest directed di-rected by Morris Bird. Van ball for Vanguards under the supervision supervis-ion of Fay Jensen will alo feature this hour's entertainment. Fire by friction in charge of Clifford Crandall and a first aid demonstration under the direction of Olin Zabriskie will take place at 3 o'clock. A scout's treasure hunt with Ivan Felix and Veldon Jones in charge together with a vanguard and adult archery contest will begin at 4 o'clock. Ball games, horse-shoe pitching and other entertainment for the fathers will feature the 5 o'clock program, supervised by Ronald Whiting. Supper and camp inspection by Jess Whiting will take place at 6 o'clock. Beginning at 8 o'clock the camp-fire camp-fire program will be given as follows, fol-lows, Indian war dance, vanguards; story. Commissioner Smith, Provo; animal story, George Averett; instrumental in-strumental duet, Richard Loveridge and Richard Oakley; selection, Mapleton chorus with harmonica accompaniment; harmonica trio, Second ward ; stunt, Third ward ; accordian solo, Fourth ward ; Indian In-dian ceremonial dance. First ward; Indian dance. Mapleton scouts; Indian In-dian son, Third ward vanguards; interpretative music. Fourth ward. President J. Emmett Bird will give the welcome address and A. A. Anderson the response. All fathers are urged to camp with the boys over night. |
