Realizing, however, that only a few from each community will be present at the sessions, we are expecting ex-pecting to make our work very intensive in-tensive in order that those present may carry back a maximum of suggestions. sug-gestions. "This work, we hope, will be especially espe-cially attractive to Relief society workers, especially the' teachers who have charge of classes in the various wards. The program as it has been worked out by Miss Maughan is as follows: "Diseases Due to Defective Diet, and Their Treatment", lecture by Miss Elizabeth Cannon, who has recently returned from a year in a government hospital at Washington, Washing-ton, D. C. She will illustrate her lecture with rats which have these diseases. "Feeding the Child for Normal Development," treated by Miss lone Palfreyman; "The Baby's Layette and the Proper Dressing of the Very Young Baby," treated by Miss Vilate Elliott, head of the clothing and textiles department, assisted by a trained nurse and her department; "Construction of the Child's Clothing from Those of Adults," by Miss Maude Tuckficld; "Literature for Small Children." by Mrs. Stella P. Rich, and "Child Training," by Miss Elsie Maughan ii-rrnily ' returneTd' from Cornell, where she had a thorough training. 16 Other Courses In addition to this course there will be sixteen others which those who attend Leadership week may elect to attend. Since the Utah state farm bureau is holding its annual convention in conjunction with Leadership week a large attendance is expe'eted. All of the courses will be grouped around the theme "Education for the Enrichment of Rural Life." |
