Show NEBO SCHOOL CONFAB HELD PAYSON An institute for all teache'rs of the Nebo school district was held at the junior high school in Payson Saturday. At the morning morn-ing session the opening address was given by Supt. Melvin Wilson, after which a musical program was given to demonstrate the value of music in schools. Two selections by a group of boys was directed by Miss Bessinger, Salem music director. A vocal solo was given by La Von Openshaw of Santaquin and a piano solo by Miss May Taylor of Payson. Selections we're given by the male chorus and girls from the Payson high , school and by a girls chorus from the Santaquin junior high school. Ad-dresses Ad-dresses were given as follows: "Modern Education," Mrs. Ida Smoot DusenbeVry; "Character Education," Edu-cation," Prof. Erickson of the University Uni-versity of Utah; "Educational Problems Prob-lems in Utah," and "Financing the Schools," Supt. Francis W. Kirk-ham Kirk-ham of the Granite school district. Luncheon was prepared and served serv-ed by the" Domestic Science students under the direction of Miss Fran-cella Fran-cella Sutherland. Miss Faye Jensen of the Spanish Fork high faculty entertained with a vocal selection. Departmental work was as follows: Senior, high school problems by I. L. Williamson, state supervisor of high schools; junior high school adolescent ado-lescent age and its problems by Irvin S. Noall, state industrial and vocational supervisor; home economics eco-nomics by Miss Je'an Cox; primary and elementary work, Miss Violet Iverson and Mrs. Dusenberry; sllop Irvin S. Noall. |
