Springville opens its Nebo division season Friday night at Eureka, and follows that battle with a mid-wek game ait home against Spanish Fork on thte allowing al-lowing Tuesday, January 23. . Tho game rt Turtle is Interesting Inter-esting as a basis of comparison with Spanish Fork, since the Beotdiggers won their opening game from the Miners on the Tintic floor. The Spanish Fork gaone, the firsit of the Net season at home, should bo decidedly interesting. inter-esting. Springville, hot on the trail of title laurels for the third consecutive L'jason, is expecting ex-pecting stern opposition from Coach Fenton Reeve's team, which h?.s dove:ioped splendidly ithis season, despite rather inexperienced in-experienced material at that school. Tuesday night's game in the Springvilie high gym will start at 8 o'clock. With Patten of Payson and Nelson Nel-son of Spanish Fork tied for scoring scor-ing honors at the close of the first week's games, Nebo division teams will continue their competition Friday Fri-day with Springville invading Eureka Eu-reka and Payson journeying to Spanish Fork. Springville is Watched The Springville game is attracting attract-ing great interest, since it is the first league game of the Red Devils this season, and if they defeat the Miners impressively, the prediction that they will romp off with the championship again this season will be strengthened considerably. Spanish Fork won over Tintic last week by a slim four-point margin, and comparisons will be in order after Friday's game at Eureka. Payson goes into the battle with Spanish Fork a slight favorite, although al-though the Lions lost to Nephi in their season opener. Coach Stan Wilson has a dangerous outfit at Payson, and his team had victory within its grasp in the Nephi duel, only to lose in the last few moments mo-ments when Blackett came through with some long ringers to give the Rangers the win. Spanish Fork's somewhat inexperienced five is coming along nicely, .however, and Coach Fenton Reeve's charges may surprise Friday evening. Forwards did most or the scoring in the Nebo division in the opening games. Patten of Payson, with 6 field goals and 2 foul shots, is tied with Nelson of Spanish Fork, who caged 5 field goals and 4 free tosses. toss-es. This total of 14 points is supreme su-preme for the first week, at least. Blackett of Nephi, who took the records for timely shooting last week, is third on the list, with 9 points. Neither centers nor guards broke into tho scoring columns (Continued on page four) Red Devils (Continued From Page One) heavily last week. The records: FOKWAKDS Games G. T. F. P. Nelson, Sp.
