Show "Talking With the Spirits" A good many credulous people, no doubt, will believe that the late lamented Houdini is "communicating from the spirit world" with his widow. But most of us will believe otherwise. other-wise. How many millions of dollars a year are filched from the wt'ak-minded dupes of palm readers, spiritists, clairvoyants, astrologers and such gentry no one knows. But the amount must be enormous. Wishing to "peer into the future," these dupes seem willing to spend any amount and believe anything they are told. It seems needless to point out that anyone who can read the future need never do another tap of work, and certainly is unlikely to be cadging dollars from nitwits. Anyone who could tell what General Motors is going to do in February wouldn't be wasting time "talking with the spirit world" for a credulous person's dimes. There is no suggestion here that Mrs. Houdini does not believe she is in communication with her dead husband; or j that she is anything but perfectly honest in her belief. The dangerMies in the suggestion, to muddle-minded persons, that communication is possible and the consequent harvest of gold by the' fakers. ; . |
