Manilla Brown Keporter, rhone hg-w. i Promnient among the1 social happenings hap-penings of the past week was the party given Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Men-denhall Men-denhall by the ladies of the Alpha Beta club in compliment to their husbands. In the early evening a sumptuous dinner was served at two long tables spread in the spacious spa-cious entertaining room. Each tnnlc was centered with a crystal basket of sweet peas. Mr. Mendenhall was master of ceremonies, Ernest Boyer acted as toastmastcr, and each guest present gave a short talk in the form of a toast to the ladies. After dinner an enjoyable enjoy-able time was spent dancing. Davidson, Sr. Mrs. Harold Allcman entertained a number of boy friends at a birthday birth-day dinner Wednesday in honor of he'r son, Grant, who was thirteen years old that day. Stories and music were enjoyed during dinner and covers were laid for the follow-ings: follow-ings: Max and Dan Allcman, Stein Donaldson, Clarence Savage, Lowell Crandall, Mark Crandall. Charming in e'very detail was the birthday party given Wednesday afternoon by Mrs. G. G. Neill in compliment to her daughter, Jeanne, who was ten years old that day. Luncheon was served at one long table centered with a pretty cake with tall tapers at either side. A color scheme in yellow was car--ricd out ,with favors in a corresponding corre-sponding shade. In addition to lunch a program of games and music were enjoyed by the' following follow-ing guests: Barbara Gudmundson, Mildred Cates, Nedra Beal, Faun Phillips, Bess Talmadge, Margery Burt, Yvonne Baker, Aileen Condie', Con-die', Ruth and Delia Baxter, Hor-tense Hor-tense and Elaine Crandall, Lucille Sumsion, LaRae West, Bell Clark, Elaine Neilson, Enid Pennington, Mary Huntington. In honor of the retiring organists and chorister of the Fouifli ward Relic? society, Mrs. Zina Condie, Mrs. Cecil Robertson and Mrs. 1 Maud Roylance. a social was given by the 'society in the ward chapel j Tuesday afternoon. Sewing, a pro-! pro-! gram and social chat were among the pleasant fe'atures of entertainment; entertain-ment; also dainty refreshments were served to a large crowd present. pres-ent. Welch gave a talk on "The : Appreciation of American Music." after which a demonstration of parts of the talk was given on the piano by Mrs. Welch and Miss Tess Hine's. In conclusion delicious refreshments were served by the hosti ss to about 20 members and several guests present. Miller of this city and Blanche Stilson of Roosevelt were married Thursday in Provo. County Coun-ty Clerk E. Byron Dastrup performed per-formed the ceremony at the court house.
