Show TAX EXPERTS COMING HERE JANUARY 21 The increased interest in the problems of taxation throughout tho state is evidenced by the numerous num-erous calls being made upon the representatives of the Utah Tax-pavers Tax-pavers association for information. Citizens of Springville will have an opportunity to hear representatives of that state-wide organization present some of the problems which confront taxpayers on Monday, Mon-day, .Tan. 21. at the Springville high school at 7:30 p. m. Through the research department depart-ment of the Utah Taxpayers association, asso-ciation, graphs and other descriptive descrip-tive matter has been prepared showing relative costs of government govern-ment and the trends in our schools, count if s and citv governments. Mr. Wilford M. McKendrick of that department, in speaking of this coming meeting, says: "People of the state are more disposed than ever to get the facts. They are not willing to let unfounded sentiment influence their judgment. The Utah Taxpayers Association is merely a fact-finding committee. Once the taxpayers themselves have the facts they will come to honest and sane conclusions." Dr. John Swenson of the B. T. U. and also a member of the State Board of Education, and a known economist, will also speak under the auspices of the Utah Taxpayers association, dealing with some of confront the taxpayers at this time the fundamental questions which, in their endeavors to seek a solution solu-tion of the tax difficulties. Other promiment educators of the state are being asked to serve as advisors advis-ors to the general committee of the Taxpayers association in formulating formulat-ing a tax program. A large number of citizens of Springville are already members of this state-wide organization, and are responsible for this call. The public is invited and is assured that an exceptionally enlightening and illuminating session will be had. |
