Show LEHI ALARMED BY MENINGITIS LEHI, Utah, Jan, 16. (UP) Special m'edical help is being sought to cope with the spinal meningitis situation, which has advanced into alarming stages here. Three children in one family ami a cousin of the three di'ed of the disease within the past two weeks. The last to go was Gerald Yarney, nine-mttnths-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Var- I ney, who died yesterday after an illness of only four hours. John, 7, Bethel, 9, and Frmilc, 4, children of Mr. am' Mrs. Eldon i Chilton, were other recent I victims 'of the diseo.se. Zoe Ball, 10, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ball, was (taken to a Salt Lake hospital Monday, in serious condition. Attendance at schools is very light, parents fearing to permit their children to mingle with 'others because of the general . scare. |
