Blackett takes Orem bride in Manti Temple ceremony Married in the Manti tem-ple February 1, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley E. Blackett were hon-ored at a lovely reception in the Orem 13th-16t- h ward hall Thursday evening-- She is the former Miss Diane Prince, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fen-to- n Prince of Orem 'and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Blackett of Spring-ville. A traditional gown of white satin was worn by the bride. Deep folds of the material fell from a unique insert at the waist line and swept into a chapel train. Pearl encrusted lace appliques were at the throat. She carried a white or-chid surrounded by vanda or-chids and her double fold veil of illusion was held by a pearl and crystal tiara. She wore a cameo from Rome, a gift from the groom. Annette Watkins, Carolyn Prince, Venice Whitwood, Mar-ianne Prince, Sheree Sumsion attended the bride in sheaths of orchid brocade. They carried informal bouquets of vanda or-chids and wore pearl tear drop necklaces, which were gifts of the bride. Mrs. Prince received guests in an off-whi- te knit sheath and Mrs. Blackett in beige silk and their flowers were orchids. Robert Anthon served as best man. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Sumsion, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Ramson and Mr. and Mrs. William Ter-ry welcomed guests at the door. Also assisting were Mr. and Mrs. Foster Anthon and Verla Manning. Mary Walters, Gail Faden, Deon Louder, Nancy Curtain and Carolyn Childs served guests. Mrs. Mont Burr, Judy Halter, Barbara Butkus, Julie Stevenson, Mrs. Mac Halliday, arranged gifts carried by Bruce Prince, Don Terry, Kay Burr, Alan Halladay and Brent Sumsion. Mrs. Leo Grant and Patricia Gourdin invited guests to sign the bride register. Deon Bean, Larry E. Chadwick plan temple wedding March 29 The engagement of Miss Deon Bean to Larry Earl Chadwick, son of Mrs. Ruth M. Chadwick of this city is announced this week by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Seth Bean of Wendell, Idaho. The attractive bride-ele- ct graduated from Twin Falls High School and Brigham Young University and presently resides in Bountiful where she is an elementary school tea-cher. She also has taught in the Portland Public Schools. Mr. Chadwick attended Springville High School and BYU. He served two years in the armed forces in Germany and completed an LDS mission in eastern Canada. He pres-ently is attending the University of Utah and is employed as a construction worker on the Salt Lake Temple. The wedding is planned for March 29 in the LDS temple at Logan. Mother honored on birthday Mrs. Dora M. Ford was hon-ored with a birthday dinner Sunday at Sage Resturant by her family. As honored guest, she was presented with a love-ly orchid corsage and other birthday gifts including a birth-day cake from Bryce and Mary Thorn. Guests present were MJr. and Mrs. Verl H. Mujuck, Mr. and Mrs. Bill De Niro and children, Danny and Dee, of Murray, Mr. and Mrs. John Swensen and children, Tamra, Kenneth, David and Elaine, Mr. and Mrs. Shirl Poulson and Mirl Ford and the guest or honor. Companions give husbands party A sweetheart Valentines par-ty for husbands of Companions club members was a highlight of the week held at the Social Center Saturday evening. Dinner was served early with special Valentine favors and a beautiful red and white carnation centerpiece adding to the theme. Mrs. Maurice Bird played a medlev of piano sel- - ections appropriate for the oc-casion and Mrs. Roy Anderson, as toastmistress, welcomed the group.
