Show vfiBf here WAmlm Springviile Kiwanis club is initiating an annual All-star M Men basketball game which will bring together the best players in the Kolob stake and the top men in the Springviile stake. Designed to raise funds for the club's boys' and girls' activities, ac-tivities, the inter-city contest has been scheduled for next Wednesday night, Feb. 20 in the high school gym at 7 and 8:30 p.m. Two games will feature fea-ture all-stars of both the junior jun-ior and senior leagues of the two stakes. These all-stars are selected following the respective respect-ive league play. A traveling trophy will be presented to the winning teams and this will be presented on a yearly basis, using the same trophy but with the winner's name and year being inscribed on it. Hardy Child will coach the Springviile all-stars, which include in-clude Hal Jensen, Springviile high school coach; Kent Huntsman, Hunts-man, Marlin Giles, Craig Smith, Roe Allman, John Child, Ken Abel, Bill Child, Bill Bird and Don Parker. Jr. team is coached by Art Reid and includes in-cludes members: Allan Meach-am, Meach-am, Doug Strong, Boyd Hansen, Han-sen, Steve Strong, Don Rig- trup, Ricky Child, Robert Lid-diard, Lid-diard, Kent Creer, Don Eld-redge Eld-redge and Val Christensen. Kolob stake all-stars will be coached by Fay Jacobsen with members including "Elliott Jordan, Jor-dan, Marvin Fullmer, Gordon Smith, Ron Alvey, Pete Roun-dy, Roun-dy, Glade Hales, Frank Loftin, Collin Allan, Ronald Graves and Bennie Killpack. Jr. M Men all-stars will be coached by Hal Burrows and Jim Vincent. They are: Ray Brown, David Beardall, Mike Shepherd, Douglas Doug-las Weight, Phil Clark, Allan Hall, Kay Tuttle, David Lovell, Merrill Hales and Paul Peterson. Peter-son. Tickets are being sold by the Boy Scouts as well as Kiwanis Ki-wanis members here and in Mapleton. The two top all-stars all-stars are Coach Hal Jensen of the Springviile Spring-viile stake and Elliott Jordan of the Kolob stake. The public Is Invited to the big "grudge" battle and assist in raising funds for children's activities here. |
