After considerable discussion a motion was made by Dr. William H. Sorensen, seconded by Alfonzo Kester, THAT the Board of Education make the Tax Sheltered Annuity program pro-gram available to all of its employees who elect to parti cipate, and THAT the Board authorize the use of an AMENDMENT TO THE EMPLOYMENT EM-PLOYMENT CONTRACT outlining out-lining the essential agreement to be made in connection with tax sheltered annuities. The motion further stated THAT the Board authorize payroll deductions for the 1963-64 contract period only on applications received on or before September 10, 1963, and THAT the Board approve for the purchase of annuities no more than two (2) Companies Com-panies the Horace Mann Insurance In-surance Company and one other oth-er company which will be determined de-termined by the number of applications ap-plications submitted. The motion mo-tion carried on a unanimous vote. Supt. Stansfield reported he was able to negotiate a price of $.05 per pint of milk for the 1963-64 school year and that Town Pride Dairies would be furnishing the milk for the School Lunch Program. He al so reported that he was able to negotiate a price on sugar for the coming school year of $10. 50 per cwt. This sugar is to be used exclusively in the School Lunch Program of the District. Dis-trict. The Supt. reported that the contract for Springville Art Gallery addition had been signed and that work started on schedule. He also reported that the specifications for the tennis courts at the Springville Senior High and the Spanish Fork Senior High Schools were being revised and that bids would be called for the Sept. 23 meeting of the Board. He pointed out that in order to reduce the cost of the project it might be necessary to reduce re-duce the number of tennis courts at the Spanish Fork Sr. High from three to two which is the same number that the Springville Senior High has. Supt. Stansfield reported ne had received a letter from Dr. John C. Carlisle, Dean of the College of Education at Utah State University, requesting permission to assign one or more graduate students to Nebo Ne-bo District for field experience in school administration or for an internship in school administration. admin-istration. The Supt. stated '' that he had informed Dr. Carlisle Car-lisle that Nebo School District would cooperate in helping to place these students, but that the determining factor, this year at least, would be finances. |
